This morning, Caroline and Hank came over to give me the summer get ready work over.
Work done:
Complete inside clean-out...
- waxing the fiberglass,
- metal polish the stove,
- heater and ship's bell,
- removing any "stuff" that has found a home in my cabin, cleaning the bilge,
- etc...
- Hank has finally relocated my electrical power plug from inside to outside my cockpit. Now, no longer a trip hazard and a very annoying cable laying IN the cockpit. You have to wonder why Hank waited 4 years to move it... let alone 39 years of the previous owners!
here is where the electrical connection was located, right in the middle of the cockpit! |
Here is the new location... completely out of the way! |
With the help of Richard Grass, the old hole is now fiber-glassed over, just need to sand and repaint the area! |
- My fore deck was repainted
- both hatches (Skylights) have been worked on... repainted, gaskets "oiled", bolts and sliders polished and oiled.
- Extra horn mounted on mast for spinnaker sock lines.
- Lazy-jacks remounted (with yellow lines).
Next week is our Yacht club sail-pass... this is where the entire club sails / motors pass the commodores boat. This is quite a formal event... all passengers to be dressed in white pants, blue jackets, etc. After the sail pass, a party at the Yacht Club. :)
More on that next week...
Tarka out!
